Students from Ms. Dixon's 10th grade class have been spending some time in Ms. Black's third grade room helping students with their lessons. High school students are more than role models to the younger students; they are mentors, demonstrating a commitment to their own personal education. Upon leaving the room, 10th grader Willeth received a big hug and "thank you" from her 3rd grade student.
Returning to the 3rd grade classroom brought back memories of my childhood when I was an elementary student. As a high school student I was happy to help the younger students with their math work.
