A Science Fair Report- by Henry

The middle schoolers were making projects and it was very awesome. This was very cool, some were making fun stuff. The kindergarten class came in and started walking around, so students did demos of their projects for the kids. I think that everybody’s projects were great. So everyone had to get ready and try to speak as if they were to introduce their experiment to others.

During the science fair, we all had to try to get ready as other classes came to see what we were doing. The second and third graders came and saw the middle schoolers, so that they might be able to try and make what the middle schoolers were making. The kids were having a lot of fun because of the experiments that they made. Some were having too much fun and didn’t listen that much.

Akiak and Akiachak came for the fair. They made spaghetti bridges and went to test the capacity of weight each could hold. The students played, worked, and did other stuff, keeping each other busy. Akiak, Akiachak and Tuluksak all challenged each other in the spaghetti bridge competition. Some of the community came to watch the fair and the students from the district, seeking to do well at the spaghetti bridge contest.

Yup'ik Dance Group

The Yup'ik dance group meets every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on the stage at 4pm. All students are invited to come and join in on the dancing. Community members are welcome to come, too. If you know some songs or dances, please share them with us.

Pictures and a better post are on their way. For now, you'll just have to come to the school and see for yourself.
